28 Jan 2010 The sorrow of war
 |  Category: Tâm hồn uể oải

I have spent one morning to read the novel “the sorrow of war” (the Vietnamese version). This is not the thing I like from the topic of war to the way author makes the story. The story is too complicated and it makes me think as if there are several pieces of sparkling and beautiful glass spreading out on a dirty floor. Actually, I don’t like the way he talks but those pieces of writing are really good.

He haunted me by the ECU (extreme close-up) view of Vietnam war. Those are something terrible with the spleenful ghosts, the scattering tombs and bodies and even parts of human… Those souls cannot go beyond usual practices. The mad writer and his girlfriend are the victim of war? I don’t know but I don’t like how the things to be mixed up like this. It is too complex and scattering.

However, that is something we should read to understand more about the war and its effects and to know something can be called “the other side of war”… something behind the heroes, the missions and all the lofty, to realize that the war is never beautiful from any point of view.
